Cosmic Credits – Loyalty Programme Terms & Conditions

1. Programme Overview

Cosmic Credits is The Big Bang Shop’s loyalty programme designed to reward customers for shopping with us in-store and online. Members earn points on qualifying purchases, which can be redeemed for store credit subject to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility & Membership

2.1. Membership is free and open to all customers aged 18 years or older.
2.2. Customers must have a registered customer account with The Big Bang Shop to earn and redeem Cosmic Credits.
2.3. Only one loyalty account is permitted per customer.
2.4. Membership is personal and may not be transferred, sold, or shared.

3. Earning Cosmic Credits

3.1. Members earn points on qualifying purchases made in-store or online.
3.2. Points are calculated based on the final transaction value after discounts, promotions, and refunds.
3.3. Points are awarded only when a customer account is linked to the transaction at checkout.
3.4. Points are not earned on:

  • Gift cards or vouchers

  • Event entry fees (unless explicitly stated)

  • Shipping fees and/or taxes

  • High End Collectables such as Graded Slabs or Special Figurines

  • Any items excluded at The Big Bang Shop’s discretion such as items on sale or in store only discounted items.

  • Items orders in on request

3.5. Bonus point promotions may be offered from time to time and are subject to additional terms.

4. Points Value & Conversion

4.1. Points have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
4.2. Points are converted into store credit at a rate determined by The Big Bang Shop and may be adjusted at any time.
4.3. Store credit must be redeemed in fixed increments as made available within the loyalty programme.

5. Redeeming Store Credit

5.1. Redeemed store credit may be used for purchases in-store or online.
5.2. Store credit cannot be used to purchase gift cards or exchanged for cash.
5.3. Store credit must be applied at the time of purchase and cannot be retroactively applied.
5.4. Store credit may not be combined with certain promotions, discounts, or offers unless expressly stated.
5.5. Store credit is valid for a limited period as indicated at the time of redemption.

6. Returns, Refunds & Adjustments

6.1. If a purchase is returned or refunded, any points earned from that transaction will be reversed.
6.2. If store credit was used on a refunded transaction, the credit may be reissued at The Big Bang Shop’s discretion, subject to programme rules.
6.3. The Big Bang Shop reserves the right to correct points balances in the event of errors or system issues.

7. Account Responsibility & Misuse

7.1. Members are responsible for ensuring their account information is accurate and up to date.
7.2. Any suspected misuse, abuse, or fraudulent activity (including but not limited to account sharing or manipulation of points) may result in:

  • Suspension or termination of membership

  • Forfeiture of points and store credit

  • Refusal of future participation in the programme

    7.3. The Big Bang Shop’s decision in such matters shall be final.

8. Programme Changes & Termination

8.1. The Big Bang Shop reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Cosmic Credits programme at any time.
8.2. Changes may include earning rates, redemption values, expiry periods, or eligible products.
8.3. Reasonable notice will be provided where practical.
8.4. In the event of programme termination, members will be given a reasonable opportunity to redeem available store credit, unless otherwise required by law.

9. Expiry of Points

9.1. Points may expire after a period of inactivity or as otherwise specified by The Big Bang Shop.
9.2. Expiry rules will be communicated via the website or customer account where applicable.

10. Privacy & Data Protection

10.1. Participation in Cosmic Credits is subject to The Big Bang Shop’s Privacy Policy.
10.2. Personal information will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including POPIA.

11. General

11.1. Participation in the programme constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
11.2. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
11.3. The Big Bang Shop reserves the right to interpret and apply these Terms & Conditions at its sole discretion.
