The meadow is bright, the birds are singing, and a very large tree with a very kind face has taken up the middle of the path as if waiting for company. Ashley Dreyfus gives the forest its own wonder: flowers leaning in to listen, tiny creatures tucked between roots, branches full of visitors, and Treefolk who seem to have known each other for centuries because they probably have.
No one is in a hurry. The old ones are awake, the little ones are arriving, and every leaf seems to know exactly where it belongs. The grove grows friend by friend, root by root, until the whole forest feels stronger, warmer, and wonderfully impossible to move.
